Tent Cities at Reid Ranch have green tents or tents that look like log cabins. A view of Tent City with several 8-man tents for one campground. Each Tent City has picnic tables, a pavilion, and a fire barrel. These well-organized campers pitched their similar style tents in nice neat rows. A boy shows his excitement while riding a horse (one of the favorite activities that Reid Ranch offers). Mounted riders are preparing to start their journey. A line of horses and riders can be seen on a dusty mountain trail. All suited up with vests and helmets ready to ride, this group waves to the camera. Swimming in the pools is fun for young and old. Parents and their babies spend time in the Red Creek Lodge's pool. Swim diapers required for all babies in the pool. Youth enjoy their time in the Bunkhouse's pool. Swimming in the pool and sitting in a sauna are both great activities. Youth play a game of pool ball in the Tabby Mountain Lodge's pool. A jump into the pool offers an escape from the heat (no diving allowed). Each facility has its own swimming pool (no pool hopping allowed). Basketball at the Sports Court can be played during your allocated time slot. A group of young men line up for free throw practice at the Sports Court. Two pairs of girls playing sand volleyball. A rousing game of soccer between young men and women. Youth enjoy the competition of a soccer game. These youth all aim and prepare to fire off arrows at the same time at the Archery activity. Young women and their leader pose with bows and arrows in hand. A woman prepares to putt. Putting is the name of the game at the Prairie Dog Greens mini-golf course. People pause putting for a fantastic photo. Young women aim for the clown's nose to win a prize at the ball return spot. A Children's playground offers activity for the very young. A large group of young women gathers around the stage for a fireside talk. Skits can be performed on the stage. Mountain Biking is available as a scheduled activity. Time out on the lake with paddle boats and canoes is allotted to each group on a rotation. 'Contemplate the serenity of a clear blue mountain lake' for Reid Ranch's version of a Rocky Mountain High. Just in case a boat flips, all guests must wear life vests while out on the lake. It may look restful, but paddle boating is exercise too. Three girls guide their canoe across the lake. Whether you chose a canoe or a paddle boat, your time on the lake will be enjoyable. Even the elderly spend time on the lake at Reid Ranch. Looking toward the dock from out on the lake. A scenic view of the lake from the dock. Standing on the edge of the lake in the evening gives one a sense of wonder at nature.

The Uinta Mountains stretch on for miles all around. Hills full of sagebrush, aspen trees, and evergreens. Native plants populate the hill in the foreground, a hill of tall pines in the back. Rain clouds hover over the wild landscape. A hill of aspen trees rises from the land, dotted and capped with evergreens. Pines and firs tower over the land. The Red Creek can be seen meandering through a valley of brush with coniferous forests on each side. A close-up of bushes with a forested hill behind. Ranch horses are gathered on the road by a hill of aspen and pine trees. Looking across the lake, the mountains in the distance are nearly perfectly mirrored in the lake. High enough in elevation to view land for miles and miles. A small valley nestled among the foothills of the Uinta Mountains. If, like the bear, you climb over these mountains; you are sure to see more mountains. The cold hour before dawn is the best time to go on the Sunrise Hike. The sun seems so distant in the haze of the morning. The sunrise is plainly visible despite the overcast skies. The land draws dark after sunset. The sun is setting over a scenic view. Trees, flowers, and brush with the lake in the background for this scenic view. Trees along the hillsides of this mountain scenery. A fallen tree acts as a log bridge over the river. A peaceful scene at twilight. An interesting rock formation with a hole carved out by erosion.

A cluster of white flowers blossoms on the hillside. Small white flowers rise up out of the shallow portion of the lake. A variety of flowers, trees, and shrubs dot the landscape. Identifying flowers and other plants is a good activity for boy scout and girl scout groups. Lovely blue and purple flowers stick up out of the green grasses and bushes. The Rocky Mountain Penstemon can be found all around Reid Ranch. I believe this light purple flower is part of the Fireweed family. Penstemon flowers grow along side a Wild Rose bush. The Wild Rose is a pretty pink flower. Beware, like other rose bushes the Wild Rose is prickly. The Paintbrush family comes in many varieties. Is this one Indian Paintbrush? The Scarlet Gilia finds its own way in a sea of yellow flowers. Ducks congregate next to the shore of the lake. A deer can be seen in the distance. Sometimes deer come quite close. A shy fawn moves away from the camera. Horses roam in the wild landscape. Ranch horses in the distance feeding in our pasture. A close-up of a pair of horses feeding in our pasture. Deer can be seen among the aspen trees. More deer can be seen among the aspen trees.

A close-up picture of the horse's face. This horse isn't camera shy. Saddled horses await the next group for a trail ride. In keeping with a Western themed Guest Ranch an old wagon wheel decorates the edge of the mini-golf course. Bundles of hay and farm equipment can be seen here, needed for taking care of horses during the summer. Old wooden signs guide guests to different activities and buildings. Reid Ranch owns 400 acres of pristine mountain land, be prepared to do some amount of walking. Three girls spend an evening roasting marshmallows. One may enjoy just sitting and thinking in a chair on the lodge deck. When you get tired from all the activity, have a seat and relax for a bit as these four men. Perhaps sitting on the ground waiting your turn is more your style? An impromptu game by this youth group is sure to leave lasting memories. These youth are having a lot of good clean fun.
